CRYOTHERAPY FAQs

Your questions.
A clearer first visit.

What to wear, how to prepare and what the chamber feels like—find the practical answers before your visit.

Before your visit

What should I wear?

Arrive in comfortable clothing and bring clean, dry underwear or suitable minimal clothing for your chamber session. We provide a gown and protective items, including socks, gloves and footwear. The team explains exactly what to wear before you begin.

What should I bring?

Bring dry clothing to change into if you are coming straight from training. Have your booking details available and tell us about any medicines, medical conditions or recent changes in your health. Follow the preparation instructions in your booking confirmation.

What should I avoid wearing or bringing into the chamber?

Do not enter with wet clothing or damp skin. Leave your phone and personal belongings outside the chamber. Tell the team about jewellery, watches, piercings or metal in your clothing so we can guide you on what to remove before treatment.

Can I come after exercise?

Let the team know if you are arriving after training. You must be completely dry before entering the chamber, including your skin and clothing. Allow time to dry off and change before your session.

Is there somewhere private to get changed?

Yes. We have a screened changing area so you can prepare in privacy. A gown is provided, and our team explains the preparation steps before your treatment. Let us know if you have any additional privacy or access requirements.

Is cryotherapy suitable for everyone?

Suitability depends on your health history and the treatment. We review your consultation form before your session. Tell us about pregnancy, heart or circulation problems, sensitivity to cold, recent surgery and any other medical conditions. The team may ask you to seek medical advice before treatment.

Inside the chamber

Will I get wet in the chamber?

No. The chamber uses dry cold, not water. You are not immersed in liquid, so the treatment itself does not wet your skin or clothing. You must be completely dry before you enter.

How long is a whole body cryotherapy session?

The chamber session is three minutes. Allow additional time for your consultation, changing and preparation, especially on your first visit. Your team member supervises the session and can stop it if needed.

What does the cold feel like?

You will feel a strong cold sensation during a short, supervised session. Experiences vary, and you do not have to tolerate discomfort. Tell the team how you feel throughout.

Will someone stay with me?

Yes. A team member guides and supervises your chamber session. You can speak to them during the treatment and ask to stop at any time.

Do I need to be an athlete?

No. We welcome people exploring recovery alongside sport, work or everyday life. We discuss your goals and help you find a suitable treatment.

Will I feel a difference straight away?

Some clients describe feeling refreshed or more comfortable after a session; others notice different responses over time. Results and the duration of relief vary from person to person. We discuss realistic goals and check how you feel afterwards.

Treatments and booking

What is localised cryotherapy?

Also called targeted cryotherapy, it focuses controlled cold on a specific area rather than using the whole body chamber. Sessions last 3–10 minutes depending on the treatment area.

What is Freeze & Squeeze?

Freeze & Squeeze combines a whole body cryotherapy chamber session with Normatec compression in one visit, taking up to 35 minutes.

How long are the other treatments?

Normatec compression is 25 minutes, a Cryo facial is 10 minutes, and a skin tag removal appointment is approximately 15 minutes. Ask the team about the timing for multiple-lesion appointments.

Can I see availability before paying?

Yes. Open our secure booking diary, choose your treatment and see available dates and times before completing your booking. Membership and bundle purchases through Stripe are separate from reserving an appointment.

What if I already have a membership or bundle?

Contact the team to arrange your included sessions and confirm the correct booking route before paying separately. Membership treatments can be tailored by agreement with the team.

How long do bundles and gift vouchers last?

Treatment bundles are valid for six months from purchase. Gift vouchers are valid for four months from purchase. Gift vouchers are currently issued manually: email us after buying and allow up to 24 hours after your email for delivery.

Where are you, and is parking available?

Find us at 194 Bedford Road, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 8BL. Free parking is available behind CryoHub, with additional access to private parking at Kempston Constitutional Club opposite, with 24-hour CCTV coverage.
